JetNation NFL Power Rankings 2023 Week 15

NFL

As the NFL season progresses into Week 15, our NFL Power Rankings evolve. From the dominant 49ers holding the top spot to the resurgence of teams like the Denver Broncos, the league showcases an array of talent and surprises. This week reveals significant shifts and emerging contenders as teams jostle for playoff positioning. Let’s dive into the top 10 teams of the week, along with a special focus on the New York Jets’ current standing.

1. San Francisco 49ers (10-3)
Last Week: 1
It’s five straight wins now for the Niners. If San Francisco can avoid the letdown this week, they have the inside track to home-field advantage.

2. Dallas Cowboys (10-3)
Last Week: 2
The Cowboys pulled even with Philadelphia with a resounding win over their division rivals. The Cowboys have the more difficult road ahead in the race for the division crown. It’s a huge fall off from second seed to fifth seed. Dallas needs to change its path to the big game.

3. Baltimore Ravens (10-3)
Last Week 4
The Ravens escaped Sunday against the Rams. Nobody is dominant every week. The Ravens have two difficult road tests coming up with trips to Jacksonville and San Francisco. Winning both will lock up home-field for Baltimore.

4. Philadelphia Eagles (10-2)
Last Week: 2
The Eagles will point to the turnovers and the lack of explosion on offense. There are corrections to be made on offense, but this team isn’t stopping anyone anymore. Philadelphia allows 24.7 points per game despite playing a good number of offensive challenged opponents.

5. Miami Dolphins (9-4)
Last Week: 5
What was that? The late-game collapse against the Titans is a concern. A bigger concern was how Miami looked when Tyreek Hill left the field. Miami better pull it together quickly. After the Jets this week, the Dolphins close the season with the Cowboys, Ravens, and Bills.

6. Kansas City Chiefs (8-5)
Last Week: 6
The Chiefs are not handling losing very well. The only thing uglier than the Chiefs offense of late is their behavior after the game Sunday. It’s time to grow up.

7. Detroit Lions (9-4)
Last Week: 7
The Lions are happy the Bears will not be a playoff team. Chicago should have beaten Detroit in the first of the teams’ two meetings. Chicago solidly handled the Lions on Sunday. Though it’s not always resulting in losses, the Lions are just not playing as well as they did earlier in the year.

8. Buffalo Bills (7-6)
Last Week: 8
The Bills are alive again in the AFC. Sunday’s road win in KC was huge. The Bills have to play well again this week as they host Dallas.

9. Cleveland Browns (8-5)
Last Week: Unranked
All hail Joe Flacco! Cleveland has a championship defense. If they get good quarterback play, they will be tough out in the playoffs.

10. Denver Broncos (7-6)
Last Week: Unranked
Denver should get more credit for the incredible turn around on defense. The Broncos were on a historically bad pace. The defense allows just 15.5 points per game over their last seven games. The Broncos have won six of those seven and are alive for a playoff berth.

26. New York Jets (5-8)
Last Week: 28
The Jets handled the rain and the Texans on Sunday. Something clicked for Zach Wilson while he was seated on the bench. Jet fans hope it marks the turnaround Wilson’s career needs.
