Jarrick Bernard-Converse is First Jets Draft Pick to Sign

Jet Nation

The Jets announced through the team’s official twitter account that rookie cornerback Jarrick Bernard-Converse is the first of their draft choices to sign his rookie deal.

A cornerback at LSU who played safety at Oklahoma State, the Jets chose Bernard-Converse with the 204th overall pick in last week’s draft.  The 6′ 1” 205lb Bernard-Converse is listed as a cornerback on the Jets official site, but getting some run at safety should be in the cards.

The Jets traded a 7th round pick for former Raven Chuck Clark to join Jordan Whitehead, Tony Adams and Ashtyn Davis in the secondary but neither Whitehead nor Davis lived up to expectations in 2022.  In fact, Whitehead was tied for 8th in the NFL among safeties with 17 missed tackles according to PFF.
